City to observe Veterans Day holiday Nov. 11

The City of Cedar Rapids will observe the Veterans Day holiday on Friday, November 11, 2011. Most City offices will be closed on that day. The following City services will continue to operate:

• Cedar Rapids Public Library – West side library will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the downtown library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
• CR Transit – All City buses will be operating
• Golf – Twin Pines, Ellis and Jones Golf Courses will be open, Administrative offices will be closed
• Fire Department – Responding to emergencies, Administrative offices will be closed
• Joint Communications Center – Responding to emergencies
• Police Department – Responding to emergencies
• Solid Waste & Recycling – Garbage, yard waste and recycling will be collected on November 11.
• Water & Water Pollution Control
