City of Ely under ‘boil advisory’ -- just as a precaution

The City of Ely announced Friday that it will be under a boil advisory until Tuesday, June 20.
Luanne Miller, City of Ely deputy clerk, said the boil advisory was issued after a recommendation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources because of a repair done on casing in the city water supply system.
'There's nothing unsafe about our water,” Miller said.
Ely citizens are strongly encouraged to boil the water before drinking it, but should run into no issues with other water usage needs like showering, washing hands or food.
'If you question it - when in doubt - boil it,” Miller said.
