City of Cedar Rapids
May. 31, 2012 12:16 pm
Cedar Rapids Treasury Operations will be moving from the Water Administration Building at 1111 Shaver Rd. NE to City Hall at 101 First Street SE on June 4th. Beginning June 4th, customers can make their face-to-face utility payments at the downtown location. There will be free short-term parking located on First Street in front of City Hall. Customers will also have the option of dropping their payment, accompanied with their water remittance stub, into the payment box located on Second Avenue, across from the Veteran's Memorial Building.
The present payment window, located at the Water Administrative Building, will be closed effective June 18th 2012. All water utility payment transactions will be conducted at the Treasurer's Office starting on June 18th, as no face-to-face bill payments will be accepted at the Water Department. Customers with their payment stub, wishing to pay their utility bill by check, will still be able to drop their payment in the drop box at the far end of the Water Administration building under the canopy. The payment box will be picked up at least once per day. All payments in the box by the cut-off time shown at the payment box will be credited to the customer's account the same day.
Customer service at the Water Department (286-5900) will continue to handle new or changes in service requests, payment plans, and re-connects when water has been shut-off. More information about payment locations and the different payment options available to customers can be found at
