Further action on a proposal to restrict sales of nicotine products in Linn County has been put off a week.
The second reading of the proposed ordinance was left off the agenda for Wednesday's formal session, and the agenda can't be amended in time to meet state law. Darrin Gage, the county's director of policy and administration, said the proposal will have its second reading at the supervisors' work session Monday morning, with a third and final reading Jan. 17.
The new rule
would require a retail tobacco license to sell "nicotine delivery systems and unregulated products containing nicotine," such as e-cigarettes, and would ban their sale to minors.
