2012 assessment appeals must be filed by May 7

Assessment appeals to the 2012 Cedar Rapids Board of Review must be filed with the Cedar Rapids City Assessors Office between April 16, 2012 and May 7, 2012.

The Cedar Rapids Board of Review will convene Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in regular session.

Protest forms must be received by the Cedar Rapids City Assessor's Office no later than 5:00 PM on May 7, 2012 or have a May 7th US Postal mark to be considered timely filed.

Protest forms may be obtained from the Cedar Rapids City Assessors office or the City Assessor's Web site at

www.cedar-rapids-assessor.org. Select Information on the assessor's web site then Assessment Appeal and click the link after the fourth paragraph. Please review the information contained within this section of the assessor Web site regarding the appeal process as well as the Cedar Rapids Board of Review Rules and Procedures.

Additionally, protest forms may be obtained from the Iowa Department of Revenue's Web site at

www.iowa.gov/tax/locgov/iowa-property-tax.html, select Forms, then select Board of Review Forms for Taxpayers and Counties, finally selecting Petition to Local Board of Review, Regular Session.
