According to the National Weather Service we can expect increasing clouds today, with a high near 62 — and winds from the west 5 to 10 mph. Then tonight, a 30 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m. and a low around 48.
More than 300 people gathered at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday to celebrate Christine Grant’s life and legacy. The crowd included former players, coaches she hired over a quarter-century and athletic administrators from around the country. Grant died Dec. 31st at age 85.
One of the 963 Americans, including President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, that Russia over the weekend permanently banned from entering the country is a local judge who’s surprised he made the list. Sixth Judicial District Senior Judge Patrick Grady was bemused by the news because he has never traveled to Russia. He did go in 2012 to the southwestern part of Poland with Judge Fae Hoover and Gary Hinzman to study the courts and penal system.
