Titans release starting quarterback

CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Titans have released starting quarterback Willie Copeland.
The move was reported in the Indoor Football League's website www.goifl.com
Copeland, a left-hander out of Valdosta State, had started each of the Titans' six games. He was among the league's lowest-rated quarterbacks with a 55.6 quarterback rating. He completed 79 of 181 passes for 663 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions.
As of Wednesday, the team had yet to sign another quarterback. Kenneth Black Jr. has been Copeland's back-up. In two games, he is 10 of 24 for 82 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions.
The 2-4 Titans host Omaha on Saturday at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
