Paki's Back at Running Back

SCOTTSDALE, AZ - The Iowa depth chart at RB is vastly different than back in September. Back then all the tealk was about the 3 headed monster of Jewel Hampton, Adam Robinson, and Brandon Wegher. Not 1 of those 3 will be playing on Tuesday night when the Hawkeyes take on Missouri in the Insight Bowl.

Wegher never joined the team in the fall and eventually asked for his release. Hampton tore his ACL for the 2nd straight year, then asked for a transfer a few weeks ago. Robinson has been suspended because of academics.

Now the RB duties fall to true freshman Marcus Coker, who will start, and backup Senior Paki O'Meara. The former Cedar Rapids Washington standout missed 2 games this year with a concussion, but will now get carries in the final game.

Head Coach Kirk Ferentz says Paki will spell Coker a couple times during the Insight Bowl, and he has prepared well for the game.
