Montezuma hires Sietstra as football coach
Jeff Linder Feb. 16, 2012 4:32 pm
Keith Sietstra is Montezuma High School's new head football coach.
Sietstra was a 2003 graduate of Boyden-Hull High School where he was a standout football and basketball player. He continued his football playing career at Northwestern College in Orange City.
In 2008, Sietstra was hired as business teacher and assistant football and assistant girls' basketball coach at Montezuma. As an assistant football coach, Sietstra has been in charge of the JV team and worked with the running backs and linebackers. In 2009 Sietstra took over as the head coach of the girls' basketball program. He inherited a program that had won just six games in a two-year span. During his three seasons he had lead the Bravettes to 35 wins and back-to-back winning seasons. Sietstra will continue in that role.
“I am incredibly humbled an excited to have the opportunity to lead the Montezuma football program.” Sietstra said. “My mission as head football coach is to help these guys grow into young men who are bold in what they believe and dedicated to always doing things right. Montezuma football will be about becoming young men, better students, better sons and ultimately about becoming better husbands, better fathers and better people.”
