Iowa high school football playoffs 2021: Brackets, Round of 16 matchups

The Iowa high school football playoffs are down to 16 teams in each of the seven classes.

Friday is the second round in 2A, 1A, A and 8-Player and the first round for 5A, 4A and 3A.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association released the pairings for the Round of 16 Saturday morning. Starting with this round, teams in each class were placed into one of four four-team brackets. Win two games and you advance to the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls for the state semifinals.

Host sites for the Round of 16 were determined by RPI in 5A and district finish and RPI in 4A and 3A. In 2A, 1A, A and 8-Player, it was district finish, then district record, then the alphabet if necessary.
