Hoiberg inducted into national prep Hall of Fame

AMES - Former Ames High star and current Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg is being inducted into the National Federation of State High School Associations Hall of Fame.
The federation announced Thursday that Hoiberg is one of 12 members of the hall's 2012 class.
Hoiberg led Ames to the 1991 state title in basketball and was named Iowa's Mr. Basketball after averaging 29.8 points a game that season. He also was an all-state quarterback and holds the school's records in passing yards and total offense.
Hoiberg joins former Iowa State athletes Dan Gable and Gary Thompson as members of the federation's Hall of Fame.
