AMES - The Iowa State Cyclones open up the 2010 football season Thursday Sept. 2nd against Northern Illinois.
Former Cedar Rapids Kennedy standout Ben Lamaak will once again be a starter on the offensive line, but this time at center. Lamaak signed with ISU as a 225 pound tight end back in 2006, but has transformed in to a 310 pound lineman.
This will be his 4th year of starting. He was a Right tackle as a freshman, right guard as a sophomore, left tackle last year, and now center as a senior.
Lamaak says too many trips to the training table and buffets wouldn't let him stay at tight end, and he has enjoyed every position on the line.
