Former Iowa tackle Markus Zusevics tears pectoral muscle

Former Iowa tackle Markus Zusevics tore his left pectoral muscle during the bench press on Friday at the NFL Scouting Combine, reports NFL Network's Steve Wyche.

Zusevics, a two-year starter at right tackle for Iowa, will need surgery to repair the damage, Wyche reports. Zusevics was projected as a possible fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft.

Zusevics didn't participate in the 40-yard dash or other drills on Saturday.

"That was him?" former Penn State defensive end Jack Crawford asked after his interview session.

Crawford was complimentary about Zusevics.

"He's pretty good," Crawford said. "He's got good footwork. He's not that heavy, not that big, but his footwork's pretty good. Iowa's tackles are always good. He's a good all-around player.

Iowa guard Adam Gettis wowed everyone by running the 40-yard dash in 4.91 seconds. Gettis predicted he'd turn heads with his performance, saying on Thursday, "I think I've got a little bit of speed that people don't think I have. So I'd like to show off my speed a little bit."

Iowa tackle Riley Reiff ran a 5.23 40-yard time and benched 225 pounds 23 times. Iowa State tackle Kelechi Osemele ran the 40 in 5.36 seconds and benched 225 pounds 32 times.
