Coe College International Club hosts banquet

Cuisine from around the world will be featured at the Coe College International Club's 36th annual banquet on Sunday, Feb. 28. Appetizers will be served during a reception at 6 p.m. in the upper lobby of Gage Memorial Union, followed by the dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Gage Dining Hall.
The event is open to the public and tickets are $10, free for children 12 and under. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available by calling the Coe Box Office at (319) 399-8600 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
In keeping with long-standing tradition, Coe international students will don costumes and serve from a buffet line reflecting their nationalities. A brief program featuring the students will follow the dinner.
This year's banquet features the cuisine of China, Japan, Nepal, Vietnam, Korea, Greece, Sweden and Germany. Featured dishes will include spanakopita, Vietnamese spring rolls, Chinese corn soup, Chinese ribs, bulgogi, miso Soup, baklava asloo-ko-aachar (Nepali-syle potato salad), and yaki udon (Japanese noodles).
