Bea's Cafe
The Riley's location at 2727 Sixth St. SW, Cedar Rapids, has closed, and a new restaurant, Bea's Cafe, has opened. According to it's Facebook page, it is, 'a locally owned restaurant specializing in breakfast favorites,” and is open 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.
Hoja
Iowa City has a new ramen restaurant, with Hoja opening in the Old Capitol Town Center food court.
The restaurant announced its soft opening on Dec. 13, with a limited menu for the time being. They offer ramen, rice dishes like Taiwanese ground pork rice and teriyaki chicken, Vietnamese curry dishes and fried rice, along with appetizers like shrimp shumai (dumplings) and veggie fried egg rolls.
Owner Richard Chia has been at the local sushi restaurant Sushiya, 745 Community Dr., North Liberty, and is nephew of Sushiya's owner, Vincent Chia. He said Hoja means delicious in Taiwanese.
