Two injured in Cedar Rapids house fire

CEDAR RAPIDS — Two people were injured Tuesday morning in a fire in southwest Cedar Rapids, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 1200 block of N Street SW at 10:07 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a fire. Two men were inside the home when the fire started.
Cedar Rapids Police Officers had removed one of the men from the home before firefighters arrived on scene. The other was found by firefighters who entered the building to search while extinguishing the fire.
One of the men was taken to Mercy Medical Center and the other was taken to UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's. The release does not indicate the severity of their injuries, but it state their ages are approximately 50 and 80 years.
Two police officers also underwent medical evaluations after the fire.
