One injured in Cedar Rapids apartment fire

CEDAR RAPIDS — One person was injured in a fire that broke out Tuesday in an apartment in northeast Cedar Rapids, according to the Cedar Rapids Fire Department.
First responders were called to the 1500 block of Oakland Road NE at 3:47 a.m. Tuesday for a report of an apartment fire. Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control, and fire damage was limited to the apartment where the fire started. The rest of the building was ventilated to remove smoke, a news release states.
One person, described as an older adult female, was taken to Mercy Medical Center with minor injuries, the release stated.
