Garbage truck catches fire outside Linn County Courthouse

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Third Ave Bridge in downtown Cedar Rapids was closed for a few hours Tuesday morning after a garbage truck caught fire in front of the Linn County Courthouse.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department was called to the scene at 7:57 a.m., according to the department.
No one was injured in the fire and it was extinguished and cleaned up by 9:40 a.m. During that time, the bridge was closed but the courthouse was still accessible, according to a Facebook post from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
