Body found after home blast identified as owner

A body found after an explosion at a house in rural Buckingham last week has been identified as Roger H. Dehrkoop, 70, who property records show is the owner of the home.
First responders were called to the house, at 1117 W Ave. in rural Buckingham in Tama County, at 10:14 a.m. Aug. 14 for reports of an explosion.
The body, which was discovered near the home, was taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for examination and identification. An autopsy was conducted Monday, and Dehrkoop was positively identified Tuesday, a news release from the Tama County Sheriff’s Office says.
The cause of the explosion still is under investigation.
