Blum tabbed for Budget, Oversight committees
James Q. Lynch Dec. 4, 2014 9:04 am
CEDAR RAPIDS - Rod Blum, a Dubuque Republican who will represent northeast Iowa in the 114th Congress, has been appointed to the House Budget and Oversight and Reform committees.
'As a small-business owner who has balanced budgets throughout my career, I look forward to restoring some fiscal common sense through my work on the Budget Committee,” said Blum, who will succeed U.S. Rep. Bruce Braley in representing Iowa's 20-county 1st District.
It's also Blum's hope that his position on the Oversight and Reform Committee will allow him to voice concerns he hears from Eastern Iowans 'that politicians and bureaucrats in Washington act as if they are above the law.”
