Pints & Politics is a year-round gathering featuring The Gazette and special guests from across the state and party lines. National, state, and local issues are covered, with opportunities to zone in on the latest headlines.

Attendees participate in audience polls, submit questions, and enjoy time with some of their favorite journalists, columnists, and guests! This beloved event and lively conversation invite attendees to learn more about the issues impacting their community.

Join The Gazette and Presenting Sponsor Cedar Rapids Area Association of Realtors on August 21 for our next Pints & Politics event. This event from our year-long series will be held at The Olympic Southside Theater in Cedar Rapids, Iowa!

Rob Sand’s Bio: Rob Sand was born and raised in Decorah. He started his career in public service as an Assistant Iowa Attorney General and Iowa’s chief public corruption prosecutor, locking up scammers, taxpayer abusers, thieves, and violent criminals. Rob has served as Iowa’s State Auditor for the last six years, uncovering record amounts of waste, fraud, and abuse. Rob is now taking his fight to Iowa’s governor’s office to lower costs, protect taxpayer dollars, restore the public’s trust in government, continue rooting out corruption, and help Iowans live better, healthier lives. Rob has a wife and two sons, and a dog, Pow.

This event’s panel will include The Gazette’s Todd Dorman, Althea Cole, and Tom Barton! The Gazette’s Executive Editor, Zack Kucharski, will moderate the session. Special guest, Rob Sand will join August’s Pints & Politics.

Location: The Olympic Southside Theater - 1202 3rd St SE #200, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401, 2nd floor – elevator and stairs are available

Tickets: $5+processing. Tickets are sold online now or at the door.

Refreshments: The Olympic will have a cash bar open and available to order from!
