An array of musicians tip their caps to Iowa City singer-songwriter Dave Moore

Tuttle’s latest album, “So Long Little Miss Sunshine,” veers from her signature bluegrass to a mixture of pop and country.

Mariachi Herencia de Mexico is a virtuosic Latin-Grammy nominated group that reached the top of the Latin streaming charts with its debut album "Nuestra Herencia" in 2017. The following year, success followed with "Herencia de la Tierra Mia," produced by Javier Limon, when it topped the Latin charts. 2019's "Esencia" and 2020's "Esencia Vol. 2" followed suit on the charts.

The Grammy-nominated trio will perform Wednesday, Nov. 12.

After a year of evolution in programming, The Englert Theatre has announced a shift in leadership.

The garage rockers will feature tracks from their latest album, "Only Slightly Empty," at Gabe’s on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The indie rocker will play new material with The Attachment Theory and participate in a free, public interview with Nightbitch author Rachel Yoder.

Actor-musician Noah Reid will bring his moody tunes to Iowa City on Friday, Sept. 12.

"Track Guy Movie,“ which will screen Sunday at the Englert Theatre, is a breezy, 65-minute film that captures the essence of the warm and inspiring husband, dad and legendary track and field announcer Mike Jay.

“Train Dreams,” a stunning cinematic adaptation of the national bestselling novella of the same name by Iowa Writers’ Workshop alum Denis Johnson, is set to open FilmScene’s 4th annual Refocus Film Festival this fall.

After Mission Creek celebrated its last year at the helm of The Englert in April, the Iowa City institution is making one of the first steps in the new direction it has teased for months. Next month, they welcome a new crowd and artist lineup to the stage with the Iowa City Songwriters Festival’s inaugural event Sept. 4 to 6.

The multidisciplinary arts festival includes performances by indie songwriter Sharon Van Etten, actress Lili Taylor, UI faculty and students, and more.

Stephanie Catlett focuses on marketing by day with the University of Iowa and writes and records music by night. The Iowa City singer-songwriter explores the “quiet spaces between separate lives.”

Golden Alexander is amusing in its own right. The Iowa City power trio claims to be comprised of triplets. However, it doesn't matter that none of the members of the band look alike.
