Young - Overton

MOUNT VERNON, IA - Dr. Steven and Mary Young of Mount Vernon are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rachel Ann, to Brodie Scott Overton, son of Shawn and Cherie Overton of Traer. The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2007 from Wartburg College and is currently a third year medical student at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

The future groom is a 2004 graduate of South Tama High School. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wartburg College in 2008, and his Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) in 2009. He is currently employed as an emergency room nurse at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

A December wedding is planned in Mount Vernon.
