Barry and Denise Tegels of Des Moines, IA, are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Brittney, to John Harwood Scott, son of Porter and the late Janet Scott of Farmville, VA. Brittney graduated from Xavier High School in 2006 and went on to earn her B.S. in Biochemistry from University of St. Thomas in 2010. She recently finished her M.S. in Microbiology/Immunology and is

currently a Research Specialist at the Medical College of Virginia in

Richmond, VA. Harwood graduated from Appomattox County High School in 2007, and completed his B.S. in Chemistry at Longwood University in 2011. Harwood is entering his final year of medical school at the Medical College of Virginia and will continue his training towards licensing as a Hematologist/Oncologist. Wedding events will take place Saturday, May 16, 2015, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Richmond, VA.
