Long - Hawkins

CEDAR RAPIDS - ­Shanna Lee Long and Erik Paul Hawkins, both of Cedar Rapids, announce their engagement. Shanna is the daughter of Wendy and Doug Vogel of Cedar Rapids, and Richard Long Jr. (Julie) of Osceola, IA. Erik is the son of Bob and Marti Hawkins of Cedar Rapids. The couple has three daughters, Allyson, Zoe, and Lola, who will be helping to complete the special day.

Shanna will graduate from Mount Mercy College the weekend before the wedding, May 22, 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. Erik has been a maintenance mechanic for General Mills in Cedar Rapids for the last 11 years.

Ellen Pelzer, a close family friend, will officiate the 5:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at the Amana Community Church Museum in Homestead, IA. Reception to immediately follow the ceremony at Festhalle Barn in Main Amana.
