Linn-Mar’s Morgan Rupp fired 1-under 71 to claim medalist honors at the Mississippi Valley Conference Super Meet on Monday at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. Host Cedar Falls won a tiebreaker over Cedar Rapids Washington and Cedar Rapids Xavier for the team title.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association dropped its weekly boys’ basketball rankings Monday, as well as all postseason brackets for Class 3A and 4A. Top substate seeds belong to Decorah in 3A and Linn-Mar and Cedar Rapids Kennedy in 4A. Linn-Mar moved up to No. 2 in this week’s 4A poll.
Iowa City High’s Kendall Kurtz has had a successful month. He defeated Dubuque Hempstead’s MItchell Pins for the 120-pound Class 3A district wrestling title Saturday at Cedar Rapids Jefferson. Kurtz enters next week’s state tournament with a 19-match win streak.
