Shirley Slaughter turns 90 on March 11 and we are asking everyone to send her a birthday card. Shirley was born March 11, 1930, the daughter of Irene and Zeno Knebel of Riverside. She
married Eldon Slaughter and raised six children in Lone Tree. She retired from the University of Iowa and volunteered at the Johnson County
Historical Society, the Crisis Center, made
blankets for Shelter House and, most recently, sews stuffed bunnies for Mary's Farm
Sanctuary to raise money for the rescued
animals there.
