IOWA CITY — T.J. Tampa will be headed to Baltimore.
The Ravens selected the Iowa State cornerback in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Saturday.
Tampa, the No. 130 overall selection, fell in the draft after many prognosticators projected him to be a second or third-round pick. He was the 16th cornerback drafted this week.
Tampa will begin his NFL career after earning third-team All-America honors from the Associated Press as a senior in 2023. The 6-foot-1 cornerback had two interceptions and seven pass breakups.
The St. Petersburg, Fla., native started every game in his junior and senior seasons with the exception of the 2023 Liberty Bowl (when he opted out to prepare for the draft).
Iowa State has had at least one player drafted in four consecutive years (and five of the last six years). Tampa is the only Cyclone expected to be drafted this year.
He is the fourth drafted player from the state of Iowa, following the Hawkeyes’ trio of Cooper DeJean, Erick All and Tory Taylor.
