AMES — Arlen Harris, Jr., a former consensus four-star running back, announced Sunday on Twitter he plans to transfer to Iowa State from Stanford.
“Thank you coach @ISUMatt Campbell for giving me the opportunity to get aligned with my purpose,” Harris tweeted. “Time to apply pressure Cyclone Nation.”
Harris, a 5-foot-10, 195-pound freshman from Wentzville, Mo., played in one game for the Cardinal, carrying the ball twice for one yard. More than 20 schools offered Harris a scholarship out of high school, including Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Penn State, Iowa and Iowa State.
He was a unanimous top-40 running back prospect in the Class of 2022 and totaled 110 touchdowns as a prep at Lutheran St. Charles High School.
