What to know: Iowa State takes a 12-game winning streak into this game, the most-recent win a 74-57 home decision over No. 9 Kansas.
Cyclone guard Curtis Jones scored 25 points in that game, only the second this season in which he has started. Jones is averaging 24.7 points over his last three games.
Iowa State has lost its last eight games at West Virginia and is 2-9 there all-time.
The Cyclones have outscored Big 12 foes by an average of 14 points per game.
WVU is coached by Darian DeVries, who left Drake in March. He was 150-55 over six seasons at Drake, and led the Bulldogs to three NCAA tournament appearances.
Senior forward Tucker DeVries followed his father to West Virginia, but won’t play in this game. He sustained an upper-body injury last month and hasn’t played since. The two-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year averaged 14.9 points in the Mountaineers’ first eight games.
WVU senior guard Javon Small, a transfer from Oklahoma State, leads the Big 12 in scoring with 19.4 points per game. Jones is second at 17.8. Small also averages 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds.
The Mountaineers were ranked No. 21 in the nation last week on the heels of a 62-61 upset win at Kansas, but then lost 75-56 at home to Arizona to fall out of the rankings, and was beaten 70-54 at Houston Wednesday.
