A 22-year-old Georgia woman is accused of theft after she allegedly used a fraudulent credit card and ID to purchase computers.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the University of Iowa Police Department, Chyenne D. Helm, of Stone Mountain, used the fraudulent credit card and identification on March 22, 2017, to purchase two Apple MacBook Pro laptops and an iPhone case at the Iowa Memorial Union bookstore on Madison Street in Iowa City.
Police said the total value of the items was approximately $4,566.
A warrant was issued for Helm's arrest on Aug. 8, 2017, and she was taken into custody Tuesday.
Helm faces a charge of second-degree theft, a class-D felony.
