UPDATE: Suspect identified after man was stabbed in the neck in Marion

A man was listed as being in stable condition Tuesday night after Marion police and emergency responders located him with a stab wound to his neck.
According to a media release from Marion Police Department, at 6:51 p.m. Tuesday Marion police, firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the Marion Motel, 2330 7th Avenue in Marion, for the report of a stabbing.
Upon arriving, according to the release, emergency responders came upon an adult male with a stab wound to his neck. The man was transported to the hospital by Area Ambulance for treatment of the injury and is now considered in stable condition, according to the release.
The 'person responsible for the crime” was later identified as Taaum Jackson, 42. He has been charged with Attempted Murder and First Degree Burglary.
No other information is being released at this time as it is an ongoing police investigation, according to the Marion Police Department.
