Two people rescued from Cedar River
Cedar Rapids fire and police received a call around 12:30 a.m. Friday of people missing from a gathering near the Cedar River.
Rescue crews responded and started searching near the intersection of Old River Road and Sunshine Street SW, just downstream from the roller dam.
First responders had to pull a man and a woman out of the water near the intersection of Otis Road and Bertram Road SE. The man required medical attention but is expected to recover, officials said.
