WEBSTER COUNTY - The man accused of abusing and killing 5-year-old Evelyn Miller nearly a decade ago will go to trial Monday.
Casey Frederiksen faces first-degree murder and first-degree sexual assault charges. He's charged with sexually abusing and then stabbing Miller to death in the summer of 2005.
Miller went missing from an apartment building in Floyd. Police say Frederiksen, who was dating Miller's mother, was watching her at the time she went missing. Several days later, two people found her body in the Cedar River.
Frederiksen's trial will take place in Webster County, after a judge moved it from Floyd County because of the publicity, including media coverage.
Frederiksen is in jail for right now for having child pornography.
Last year, a judge ruled that prosecutors will be able to tell jurors about his child pornography collection. Defense attorneys wanted that information withheld from the trial. But prosecutors say that information is relevant to Miller's death.
