Three men face charges after attacking Iowa City cabdriver

Three males face charges stemming from a June 17 incident involving an Iowa City cabdriver.
According to criminal complaints filed with the Johnson County District Court, two adults: Andre Price, 22 and Roosevelt Lee Jr, 22, along with an unnamed juvenile, allegedly picked up a Yellow Cab on the southeast side of Iowa City.
The three defendants requested a ride to Clearwater Court in Iowa City.
According to the complaint, the defendants started arguing with the cabdriver while driving. During the argument, the defendants allegedly began punching the driver, who threw coffee on the defendants to stop the assault.
When the defendants exited the cab, they came back seconds later and continued to punch the driver, placed him in a choke hold, as well as struck him with a clipboard.
They also attempted to remove the cab's camera from the windshield.
According to the report, the driver went to a hospital where he was treated for swelling, scratches, and ehad pain. The entire incident was captured on the cab's in-car video.
Price and Lee both faces a charges of participating in a riot, an aggravated misdemeanor, and assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
