Three men charged with recklessly shooting firearms on Christmas

Three people have been arrested in relation to a shots-fired incident in Iowa City on Christmas.
Bhupi Singh, 21, of Coralville, Gurpreet Singh, 22, of Iowa City and Satnam Singh, 27, of Iowa City, have each been charged with reckless use of a firearm and use of a dangerous weapon in the commission of a crime.
Police were called to the 200 block of South Van Buren Street at 2:08 a.m. Dec. 25 for reports of shots fired in an alley, according to a news release from the Iowa City Police Department. No injuries were reported.
The three men were all seen on video “discharging a firearm in a reckless manner in a public space,” according to criminal complaints.
They were all taken into custody Thursday and are each being held in the Johnson County Jail on a $3,000 cash or surety bond.
