Suspect in Vinton shooting incident identified

The Vinton man accused of shooting at two Vinton police officers Friday evening faces six felony counts.
Lyle A. Fowler II, 43, is charged with two counts of assault on a peace officer with a dangerous weapon, two counts of interference with official acts and two counts of going armed with intent, all Class D felonies, according to a news release.
He is being held in the Benton County Jail.
Officers were called to Fowler's home at 705 C Ave. in Vinton at 7:54 p.m. Fowler came outside the house and fired a gun toward Sgt. Benjamin Parmater and Officer Katlyn Schimerowski, according to criminal complaints filed in Benton County District Court.
No one was injured.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation continues its investigation, and no further information has been released.
