A two-car collision at Highway 30 and Cedar River Road in Mount Vernon late Sunday night left six people hospitalized, police said Monday.
The crash happened about 11:10 p.m., according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, when a car driving north on Cedar River Road did not yield at a stop sign. A car going east on Highway 30 then hit the northbound vehicle.
The northbound driver, 18-year-old Messiah Tot of Davenport, and his passenger, 18-year-old Aleaha Anderman of North Liberty, were not wearing their seat belts, according to police.
Tisa Morgan, 40, of West Liberty, was driving the eastbound vehicle and had three passengers — 41-year-old Shannon Leggett, also of West Liberty, and two teenagers.
All six people were taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the collision.
