Shots fired near Sycamore Mall, two in custody pending charges

The Iowa City Police Department were called to the west side of Sycamore Mall, 1660 Sycamore Street, on Monday September 3, at 3:59 p.m. for a report of possible shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located shell casings in the parking lot and observed that the building appeared to have been struck by gunfire.
According to the release, the suspect was initially described as a 30 - 40-year-old white male with facial hair and glasses who fled in a gray or silver SUV.
Through the investigation, the police later identified and located two subjects suspected of being involved in the incident.
The suspects are currently in custody, pending criminal charges. There were no injuries reported from the incident, which remains under investigation.
