Shots fired incident sends one to hospital
Cedar Rapids police found one man with a gunshot wound to the leg after an early morning shots fired incident, according to a media release.
Police were dispatched to the 500 block of 15th St. SE at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, according to the release.
The victim's injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, and he was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Police are speaking with the victim and witnesses and are attempting to locate any evidence, according to the release. The incident remains under investigation.
Saturday's shots fired incident follows a separate report of shots fired Wednesday evening that took place just a few blocks away, at 1523 Seventh Ave. SE. Police have not indicated if they believe there is any connection between the incidents.
