Postville man sentenced to 10 years for kidnap and sexual assault of two 13-year-old girls in Fayette County

WEST UNION - A 20-year-old Postville man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years on lesser charges in the kidnapping and sexual assault of two 13-year-old girls last year.
Wilmer E. Soy pleaded guilty last year in Fayette County District Court to one count each of third-degree sexual abuse and lascivious acts with a child, according to a court documents.
He was originally charged with first-degree kidnapping and the other charges.
Soy was sentenced to two 10-year sentences that a judge ran concurrently for a total of 10 years in prison.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was notified June 6, 2018, that two days before two 13-year olds girls were picked up without permission in the 100 block of East Bradford in West Union, by a man later identified as Soy, according to a criminal complaint.
Soy drove the girls to a remote area north of West Union and sexually assaulted them. He then returned the girls to West Union the same day, the complaint states.
