A Marion man was hurt when he crashed his motorcycle and was thrown off just as he reached a bridge over the Cedar River.
David Price, 31, was merging from the First Avenue on-ramp onto northbound Interstate 380 around 2:50 p.m. Saturday when he lost control, police said. The motorcycle struck a guard rail, and Price was thrown off, onto the roadway.
Sgt. Cristy Hamblin said no other vehicles were involved in the crash, and investigators were unsure of the exact reason Price lost control.
Price was transported to St. Luke's Hospital and later transferred to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Information about his medical condition was not available to police.
