Nov. 6, 2014 9:41 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - Police were on patrol when they saw a vehicle crash close to the intersection of Wilson Avenue and Kenrich Drive SW just before 7 p.m. Thursday.
The crash turned into a chase when one of the drivers got out and started to run, according to a release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department.
Officers caught the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Kerwin Summage, and charged him with interference with official acts causing injury.
They also discovered Summage has outstanding warrants with the Scott County (Illinois) Sheriff's Office for probation violation and the Davenport Police Department for first-degree robbery, fifth-degree theft and other charges.
Police say the crash remains under investigation and additional charges against Summage are possible.
