CEDAR RAPIDS - Police are working to identify a vehicle involved in a shooting Friday in southeast Cedar Rapids that left one person injured.
Officers were called about 8:20 a.m. for a report of a shooting. They found a 25-year-old man near Mount Vernon Road and 19th Street SE who had suffered what appeared to be non-life- threatening gunshot wounds, according to the Cedar Rapids Police Department
He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Police said two vehicles were believed to be involved in the shooting.
One of them, police said, is believed to be a silver four-door Toyota Corolla with out-of-state plates, possibly from Florida.
Police said the vehicle was captured on a home surveillance system in the area of the shooting. Investigators think the gunshots were fired from that vehicle into another vehicle, injuring the man.
Police said the Corolla likely has rear-end damage.
Anyone with information about this case is encouraged to contact the Cedar Rapids Police Department at (319) 286-5491.
