Police looking for man who reportedly exposed himself to children in Iowa City

The Iowa City Police Department is looking for information about a man who reportedly exposed himself to elementary-aged children near First Avenue in Iowa City
According to a media release from the Iowa City Police Department, a report was received Monday about a man who had exposed himself to the children by 'masturbating in a car near Sheridan Street and 7th Avenue.” The children involved 'immediately ran away and were not physically harmed,” according to the release.
The man was described as a white male in a red and/or rusty car. An investigator has been assigned to the incident, according to the release, and this investigator is looking to speak with any possible witnesses or to obtain surveillance footage from the area.
The Iowa City Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information or possible video is asked to contact the Iowa City Police at 319-356-5276.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is also offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information about this crime. The Iowa City Police Department is asking that anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at www.iccrimestoppers.org, or 358-TIPS (8477). All calls are confidential and the identity of the caller does not need to be revealed to collect the reward.
