An Iowa City woman and her teenage daughter were arrested this weekend after police say the teen stabbed a gas station employee who owed her money.
Lametry Venus Hall, 43, is charged with first-degree robbery. According to a criminal complaint, she met her 16-year-old daughter Saturday at the Casey’s store at 204 N. Dubuque St. in order to collect a $200 debt from a store employee.
The daughter and the employee, both of whom are not identified in the complaint, started fighting. The daughter pulled out a knife and stabbed the employee. The employee managed to get away and run into the kitchen area of the store, but Hall followed and continued to confront the employee about the $200, the complaint states.
Police were called and Hall and her daughter were arrested. Hall was released Sunday from the Johnson County Jail after posting $25,000 bail. A no-contact order has been filed on behalf of the gas station employee.
