CEDAR RAPIDS - Cedar Rapids police are investigating a possible assault last month on the Mount Mercy University campus.
According to city public safety spokesman Greg Buelow, first responders were called at 3:48 a.m. March 23 to a medical emergency at the university for a woman who was 'possibly drugged.” Buelow said officials cannot release other details of the incident due to medical confidentiality, but said the woman indicated to authorities she 'may have been assaulted.”
'Police proceeded with gathering evidence and assigned an investigator,” Buelow said.
Buelow said police spoke with the woman again March 28 and explained the investigation process. On Monday, the woman indicated she would like to proceed with an investigation, Buelow said.
