Jul. 16, 2018 1:25 pm
The Cedar Rapids Police Department has arrested a 17-year old male who is accused of second-degree criminal mischief in connection with the damage caused Friday night at Kennedy High School, on Wenig Road NE.
Officers took a report of vandalism on Saturday when school officials found a vehicle had driven through a chain-link fence and on to the school's track, spinning the vehicle's tires. Police said the incident caused approximately $4,000 in damage to the fence and track.
Through their investigation, police said the 17-year-old male was identified as a suspect and subsequently arrested Sunday afternoon.
Due to state juvenile confidentiality laws, the Police Department said it is unable to provide additional information about the suspect.
