The shooting occurred at 1:27 a.m. at the Taboo Nightclub and Lounge, 415 Third St. SE. Police were on a routine patrol downtown at the time and were able to respond rapidly.

The officer, who was not identified, was not injured and the shooting was under investigation. Police said multiple shots were fired, and rounds hit the home, garage and a take-home squad car.
