Johnathan Mitchell pleaded guilty Monday to robbing a cab driver who was fatally stabbed during the crime in 2011. The case had been pending for six years, mostly due to Mitchell being found incompetent to stand trial. He fought taking prescribed anti-psychotic medications which maintained competency.

A judge declared a mistrial this week after police officers, who were witnesses, recognized a juror as having associates connected to the defendant. The juror hadn’t revealed that during jury selection and also underreported her criminal history. She also posted on Facebook that she was on jury duty and wouldn’t convict “whoever” was on trial.
